Ready For Change

At the end of May after resting for two months, the Kigali Freedom Women’s Project has successfully opened up again for this current year of training.

We have 10 new students all from very difficult background being forced to earn money through dangerous means .We are pleased to have them on the program this year and pray they stay and enjoy the new opportunities given to them. They are ready and excited for the change to come.

The year long course consists of we learning to use a sewing machine, design garments and make repairs to garments where needed. With these skills they can go on and create a new way of earning money to support themselves and their children long-term. Mentoring one to one from the local trainer and the Church leaders goes on during and around designated class times and discipleship classes are run alongside. The discipleship is designed specifically for them, we’ve been pleased to give them each a copy of the book lift up your head translated into local language. All of these combined structure of the course enables change to happen over the year.

I personally am able to zoom into the classroom and lead a couple of sessions around discipleship encouraging the women on their journey of change. The course and process of change won’t be easy for them but the Church team on the ground are very present to mentor and encourage them throughout the year, eventually we often see them start to support each other which is amazing in itself when coming from a survival of the fittest mindset.

Thank you so much for those that give to support this work and for those that help to buy machines for when they graduate all of this together is completely life changing and transformational way beyond what we can ever imagine, thank you.

Pray for them with us, throughout this year.
