Hope restored

People often have to live through wrestles that we know nothing about. That is until one day someone notices, stops and asks some questions.

Pastor John in Rwanda met Bernadette one day when he was walking about an area. He knocked on her door and found she was in a desperate state. Forced to move her mattress out of the bedroom due to water leaking through the roof. Her family had also abandoned her and she was left alone to try and survive at 79 years old.

When John call me and asked can we do something ? As he told me her story I knew I we had do something for her. I called a few friends and shared Bernadette’s struggle asking if they could help us to help her. Together, we have been able to witness Bernadette come back to life with hope for the future. In the video you can see her plight and hope come.

Since we have renovated the house I have been able to have a what’s app video call with her, along with John translating. I asked her, “what do you like the most?” She replied, “I like that someone had a heart for me.” As I have sat and thought about her answer of course, that’s what we all would love - that someone thought about us when we are in a tough place. Of course she is enjoying sleeping in a dry home and not sleeping by a charcoal fire which will be helpful health wise. She is safe and able to eat through the food parcel donated.

Thank you for helping this lovely lady who had been forgotten. Through your help God has visited her and brought her back to life. We have absolutely loved working on this for her with Pastor John and yourselves. Great team work.
