Football and Jesus
If you had been in the super market car park a couple of weeks ago you would have seen me sat in my car speaking into the phone after doing a shop. I was doing a spot of preaching to a bunch of youth that Pastor John had wanted me to share with in Rwanda. There was a delay in the timing of the session hence I was in the car. It was such a great way to spend thirty minutes. John wanted me to speak about the dangers of addictions so I shared my story and experiences of what can happen and of course my story has God as a major part of it. As I was speaking John kept saying they are really listening and taking it all in. He sensed they were moved to think about their future and if a walk with God could be part of that.
The parents were there as well which is fantastic as I finished and prayed for them John noted that the parents were responding in prayerfulness as well. When we had finished I left them to continue their time together and for John to pick it up. When he called me later to say it such a good time with them and now they wanted some football strips to wear so that they could set up a team, which would inspire them to do football training and give them motivation for life and encourage them in their overall health and well-being. We have been able to make this happen and they seem really happy. I think it will give them focus and structure in the week.
So please pray for these young people as the future generation it is so important that they have hope. Pray that as John keeps investing in them by spending time to disciple them that a vision will grow on the inside of them to pursue God and find their feet in a good future. We look forward to being part of those discussions at various times.
Thank you to those of you who made this possible.
