The Fun of Pioneering

Last week I had the pleasure of heading to Great Yarmouth for the day to meet a bunch of people. They have been praying and exploring a possible calling to make inroads to reach out into a tricky mission field to reach.

I found myself invited to come and share the how we made some inroads over fifteen years ago into our area. As I sat there I thought this is great fun, being able to inspire people to have a go and see what God does with the have a go.

I found myself sharing not only the good stories that people love to tell and hear but also the not so good mistakes I had made and things I would do differently now if I were starting from scratch. The upshot is they are now planning and pioneering forward and not long after my visit a door may have opened.

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see people move forward in mission and evangelism for me. Part of the role of an evangelist is to equip the Church for doing the work of reaching out. So thank you to those who are supporting me. It is enabling others to where God is calling them. This makes for a wider evangelism and missional reach which we are all for at Mission on the Move.

I am planning to journey with them on this and be available to help where we can. Starting by joining a prayer walk through the area and bringing a few people with us to pray over the area. Prayer really is the key to opening the way up. I prayed for a year over the ministry in Suffolk - walking and driving it to see what God was saying way before we put any action to it.

So watch this space and do pray for this new pioneering venture.
