Get Your Keys

‘’I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. ‘’ Jesus

Mathew 18:19

Keys are a big part of our everyday lives used for keeping out and getting in we need keys to lock our houses and vehicles and many other things that we consider to be of great value .if we have keys we only give them to those we trust maybe a close friend has the key to our house or we have the key to there’s however I can be sure that we do not give our keys away to many people .

As we need keys for our natural life so we need them for our spiritual life and Jesus was very aware of this that there are doors that need to be locked as they are not for us to go through and there are doors to be opened.

Knowing who Jesus is a big key for all of us as it was for Peter. In the book of Mathew chapter 16:16 Peter said to Jesus ‘’ you are the Christ, (the anointed one) the son of the living God and Jesus replied “blessed are you Peter for no person revealed this to you but my father who is in heaven, and on the rock of this revelation I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I will give you the keys of the Kingdom And whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you release on earth will be released in heaven.” This is amazing that Jesus trusts us his believers with the keys and therefore the power to release good things from heaven and lock up bad things on earth

We can unlock things through our prayer life. By speaking in prayer and asking for things to come on earth as they are in heaven, also by preaching the good news of Jesus, praying for those unwell to be made well, healing the broken hearted by journeying with them and doing all the things that the early followers walked in., Jesus made a way for to exchange our hurts and losses for goodness to be evident in our lives. Giving us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for morning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness and console all who mourn as Jesus did. He was able to do all of this as the Holy Spirit was upon him.

Jesus is our rock and the key is to stay close to him and as we do this he will give us the keys day by day that his kingdom may come on earth as in heaven. How wonderful it is for us all to know that we to are also sons and daughters of the living God and that he has given us the same spirit that empowered Jesus to bring heaven to earth; now that’s a key word having.
