Footballs and Bibles

This month we have been able to send Pastor John in Rwanda to group of people who live on a lake. John visited previously to see how the people were. He met the local authorities who have been keen for him to go and help the people. The place is held by poverty and they have needed a helping hand to lift the people’s hearts to believe for a change.

God will always use the simplest of things to reach people. John asked me if we could have some Bibles to give away to those that come to faith on his trip and some footballs to do sports outreach. We know this time of outreach absolutely works. Many years ago now Richard and I put on a similar kind of football match I personally didn’t play although Richard did with another Pastor and it was incredible to see the community coming together to watch and enjoy the match. He has definitely kicked off the youth sports outreach. Next time he goes we will make sure he has more footballs to take.

John was able to do an outreach meeting whilst their and he has given away the Bibles for us. Another partner of Johns is helping to provide sewing machines into that place so people can have a source of income. God is doing something incredible there. As its a very poor place we have a plan to do a house renovation there for an older lady whose house is falling down. Let’s see what God unfolds as John keeps partner with the local authorities who are endorsing this new work that God is establishing.
