Faith in Action

In August Pastor George and his young son were out walking down the street when his son noticed an elderly woman begging. He grabbed his dad‘s hand said that “we need to help that woman let’s go back”. As they went back they discovered that she was hard of seeing and in great poverty need. Thanks to his son Pastor George was able to see and hear her. He gave her some food to help on the day. George was so proud of his son and the heart he has to notice those in great need.

A result when George told me the story we also felt moved, so I asked him to go back and find her if he could. He found the place she stays to discover that she cares for her disabled nephew. He found her in great poverty and needing basic supples but also glasses and shoes. So we have been able to help with those things in the short term. George has even gone arranged for a Hotel to give her breakfast every day - now the wider community are also helping her get back on her feet in such old age.

We have just been able to get funds to George to fix her roof as the place as it is in vital need of repairing. More recently she has been very sick with a fever so again we have been able to care for someone spent her life trying to provide for her family. God promises to pay back double what has been stolen and this has been made possible by you and I responding as His hands and feet as we travel about being available.

We been really pleased to be able to stop and be a blessing to her. It is a drop in an ocean but we felt it was a God opportunity.
